Carbon Neutrality
PROJECT
CLIENT
The 2 buildings of 400 units each had renovated boiler rooms, but very high energy bills. Krome investigated and discovered that the buildings had large air extractors for the kitchens and bathrooms, but no fresh air supply. Fresh air units with heat wheels were installed and we performed a complete building balancing and recommissioning. The building is now code compliant for air quality, and the building envelope will be protected by maintaining a positive pressure in the building. We have seen an increase in user comfort.

Chemistry pavilions D1 and D2 primarily house laboratories, offices and miscellaneous rooms. The goal of the project was to implement heat recovery in the exhaust of the laboratory fume hoods by replacing approximately 60 extractors with a new common network of only a few variable speed exhaust fans.
