This 170,000 sq. ft. heritage building in downtown Montreal is occupied by office space for lease. The original plan was to replace the steam boilers, but Krome chose instead to replace the aging chillers with new high efficiency heat pumps to recover the building’s internal heat. We completely redesigned the HVAC systems and converted all the steam systems to hot water systems. We optimized the ventilation, replaced the two 600HP boilers with two 1000BTU boilers. The chillers were replaced and free cooling was removed.
